Welcome to the enchanting world of the Taj Mahal, a timeless symbol of love that has captured the hearts of millions!
It was built by Emperor Shah Jahan as a testament to his love for his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Legend has it that Shah Jahan was completely smitten by the beauty of Mumtaz Mahal from the moment they met.
Tragedy struck when Mumtaz Mahal passed away while giving birth to their child. Devastated by the loss, Shah Jahan vowed to honor her memory in the most magnificent way possible. And so, the construction of the Taj Mahal began.
Situated in the heart of London’s Kensington Gardens, this stunning monument is dedicated to Prince Albert, the beloved husband of Queen Victoria.
Standing 176 feet tall, it’s gothic revival style. And took 10 years and £120,000 of public money to build.
Ah, here’s the sad part (Dramatic Music!)
The story behind this unique memorial begins with a heart-wrenching tale of love and rejection. Leedsalnin, eagerly anticipating his wedding day, was dealt a devastating blow when his fiancée turned him away on the eve of their union. Broken-hearted and disillusioned, he sought solace in his art and embarked on a mission to immortalize his pain.
This memorial includes a chair and a crescent moon, which are carved from whole pieces of oolite, a kind of fossilized limestone.
Our last destination is New York.
The story goes that Boldt wanted to create a fairytale-like castle where he and his beloved could escape from the pressures of their busy lives and enjoy a romantic retreat. In 1904, Louise Boldt passed away suddenly, leaving George devastated. Heartbroken, he halted construction on the castle and never returned to the island.
