The developer of Somabay, Abu Soma Development Company, wants to make significant investments in the real estate industry over the next year, to finish the development of Soma Bay and the current hotels in the project by the end of the year.

According to Ibrahim El-Messiri, CEO of Abu Soma Development Business, the company would invest around 600 million EGP in the real estate and construction sectors while finishing the project’s hotel development.

El-Messiri claimed that the business intends to develop around 4 million square meters of its land portfolio in Soma Bay, including the building of three new 500-room hotels, using self-financing worth 1.2 billion EGP, of which 70% has already been injected.

He also stated that more than 60% of the building work has been finished, and the business is presently undertaking utility supply and final finishing operations, assuming that the hotels are ready to open within the next year.

The “Somabay” project began in 1998 with five hotels: the Sheraton Soma Bay, The Westin Hotel, Breakers Hotel, and the Robinson and Kempinski Hotel, which opened in 2009.

Soma Bay is a tourist resort that spans 10 million square meters and is bordered by the sea on three sides.
